Workshops for School Leaders
These workshops are aimed at School leaders. Principals, members of the School Management Committee (SMC) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) work together for four days, visioning the school and figuring out ways to implement the vision in the short and the long term. The main idea behind these workshops for the school leaders is to create a supportive environment for the school where all stake holders can work together. In addition, trained teachers will receive support if their management understands the progressive working environment.

When school leaders get an exposure to effective classroom teaching, they encourage and support teachers to make their classrooms more enjoyable and effective. Thus, the RBF School Leader workshops focus on exposing the school leaders to the essentials of a school. The main goal is try to ensure that the basic needs of the students are met and their academic, social, emotional as well as physical development is fostered. In addition, these sessions focus on exposing participants to good teaching practices by giving them the opportunity to learn as students. This is done both by observing Rato Bangala classes and by having the participants go through three real lessons (language, mathematics and social studies). The importance of adequate physical infrastructure, classroom environment as well as other minimum standards required for quality education is a topic that engaged the participants to a lively discussion. They watch relevant videos, visit schools, read articles and discuss real issues in order to be able to make a plan for their own school. These workshops will supplement the School Improvement Plans, developed annually by the schools.
