Writers' Workshops for quality children's literature In order to inspire writers
to write effectively and meaningfully, Rato Bangala Foundation has held several
writers workshops. Realizing the paucity
of literature that meets the social / emotional as well as academic needs of
the students in an age-appropriate manner, the Foundation conducts writer's
workshops in order to ensure that the quality of books that is brought out
meets some of the requirements of good children's literature. Workshops are residential, and provide the
prospective authors with exposure to world class children's literature along
with quality illustrations. Sessions are interactive and participants exchange
ideas and learn from each other. They leave the workshop with a draft they are
excited to polish and eventually publish. The writer's workshop is followed byseveral sessions that will support the writer in
finalizing the draft. Rato Bangala Foundation is
working towards making the writer's workshops a regular part of its core
activities.
